We all know reading is very beneficial for children. It increases not only academic and logical thinking skills, but also boosts the ability to communicate and develops imagination. Thursday 5th March is World Book Day and it’s the perfect time to inspire your pupils to get reading. Long or short, silly or serious, fiction or factual, whatever their tastes, it’s just the best time to pick up a book and get stuck in.
The World Book Day website has loads of resources, ideas and information for libraries, schools and book shops, to make your 2015 World Book day celebrations the best ever. This year they will also be distributing more than 14 million (that’s very nearly one for every child in the UK) £1 World Book Day tokens which can be exchanged for one of the fantastic new WBD books. There are ten to choose from, by fantastic authors including Michael Morpurgo, David McKee and Holly Smale.
We also have some fantastic motivation and reward products to help World Book Day go with a bang. Visit our website to have a look at our range of bookmarks, charts, stickers and more, guaranteed to make your children’s love of reading grow. What a happy ending!
