Did you know that May is National Walking month? It’s a national initiative, proposed and supported by the Living Streets charity. Their aim is to not only encourage people to pound the pavements, but also to discover more about how walkable Britain’s streets are and hopefully make it as safe as possible for everyone who wants to get outside.
This week (15th-19th) is also National Walk to School week. Although it isn’t possible for everyone to walk to school, the aim of the week is raise awareness about the opportunity to walk to school and to make sure that it is a safe choice for all children to make.
We reckon this month is a fantastic opportunity to get outside and stretch your legs in (hopefully) the early summer sunshine and get active, and enjoy all of the glorious scenery and wildlife that Britain has to offer.
The Living Streets website has lots of information on different projects being run up and down the country. Plus have a look at their Facebook and Twitter pages to find out more and use their mobile app to rate your walk to school.
We have lots of rewards you could use for walking initiatives too, from charts, stickers and badges to customised rewards to make your own, visit our website to find out more. Take a walk over to our website to get your hands on some fabulous rewards to encourage and motivate getting outside.
