This week, 14th-18th November, is Anti-bullying week. This annual event, organised by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, is a chance to talk frankly about, and raise awareness of, issues around bullying and encourage children, parents, and those who work in education to join together to stop bullying.
The theme of the week this year is ‘Power for Good’ and its aim is threefold: to help young people, parents, and all those who work with young people including teachers, TAs and youth workers, to understand the valuable role they play in the lives of others; to empower individuals; and to work alone, and together, to prevent bullying and create a a safe and supportive environment in every school, college, business and everywhere.
There are loads of ways to get involved with Anti-bullying week, from lesson plans and assembly ideas to top tips. Visit the website to find out more, share updates, download the Anti-bullying logo, see a film specially produced for the week, and share any activities your school has planned using the #antibullyingweek #powerforgood hashtags (@ABAonline).
Thank you to everyone both in education and elsewhere who support and help with issues around bullying.
