The week of 17th-21st November 2014 is national anti-bullying week and this year’s theme is ‘band together to beat bullying’. It’s a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of bullying and the role that we can all play in helping to address this problem. Bullying is never acceptable and we think it’s very important for children to realise that they are never alone and that there’s always someone to talk to, especially if they are being bullied.
There are lots of ways to get involved, from displays, mentor or buddy schemes within school, to class discussions around bullying. Antibullyingweek.org is a great organisation and their website has lots of fantastic resources to help your week go with a swing, including lesson and assembly plans, and special beat bullying wristbands. They also have a chat service for young people aged between 11-17 with others who have experienced bullying, as well as specialist counsellors who can offer advice and guidance.
You can also take a look at out our range of anti-bullying stickers. They’re a marvellous way to reward positive behaviour and help spread the message that we’re better together. They’re also ruddy lovely to look at.
Let’s band together to beat bullying.
